Meet Matthew Rochman
Matt is a seasoned litigator with a focus on complex commercial litigation, bankruptcy, and creditors’ rights.
Drawing on his experience as a former AUSA, in-house counsel, and private “big law” practitioner, Matt delivers strategic and effective solutions to complex legal challenges.
Matt has represented a wide range of clients – including creditors, trustees, and debtors in complex restructuring proceedings – as well as various litigants in high-stakes commercial litigation matters outside of bankruptcy.
For example, in restructuring proceedings, Matt served as counsel to the Puerto Rico Financial Oversight and Management Board in Puerto Rico’s historic restructuring and has litigated numerous adversary proceedings on behalf of chapter 7 trustees and creditors.
Outside of bankruptcy, Matt previously represented the former owner of the Miami Marlins in litigation with Miami-Dade County, the Women’s Tennis Association in litigation with one of its members, as well as numerous business and individuals in a variety of commercial and civil litigation matters.

About Matthew
Matt brings a rare combination of experience, as his career spans private practice, public service, and in-house counsel roles. Before joining Lessne Hoffman as Of Counsel, Matt was an in-house managing counsel for a public fintech company. Prior to going in-house, Matt served as a federal prosecutor (AUSA) representing the United States in bankruptcy proceedings and was trained in litigation at large law firms throughout his career. Matt draws on his business acumen and these varied experiences to produce the best results for his clients.
Matt also has a strong accounting background. Matt obtained his Masters in Accounting and CPA license before pursuing his career as a lawyer and he uses that accounting background extensively in his litigation work.
Outside the office, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife, Sarah, and their two children, Hayden and Blake. He’s also an avid sports fan and recently returned to playing ice hockey.
